RC INDOOR OUTDOOR 35mm BLIMP CAMERAS
The camera blimps have been developed for close range aerial shooting and replace other rigs, such as cranes, giving you greater versatility and avoiding limits to the director's and cinematographer's imagination. Consider a title sequence following your actor in a mall or in an airport, floor to floor trough stairs, elevators and sidewalks and ending 6 feet under a ceiling, or a camera that will start from a face ending 5000 feet in the sky. Our blimps are not just toys with cameras. Their design permits movement in any axis without turning and affecting the camera such as in common dirigibles. No fins or rotating motors are used in order to maintain a steady camera orientation and unwanted panning. They can fly between obstacles with absolute precision.
The 35 mm OUTDOOR BLIMP is approved by the City and Fire Department of New York, and was used in the FF "LUCKY NUMBER SLEVIN".
Our RC dirigibles can freely move around without compromising any safety measures. They are CE certified and filled with helium, a non flammable gas. Air conditioning does not affect the indoor version
When the wind exceeds 6 mph the outdoor version can be tethered on a winch that can be moved around and the blimp can be adjusted in height by the camera operator
The following sequence shows the basic steps to assemble the 35mm movie camera blimp, which takes 45 minutes. The photos also show some handling capabilities. Our specially developed 35 mm Graphite Fiber ultra light Camera has been designed to weight less than 4 lbs with the detachable magazine. During the "Stay" movie production in New York, 4 magazines, 400 feet of film each, where shot in 45 min, including rehearsal, for three different sequences. DEMO VIDEO Any lens can be used with the 400 feet magazine. A 1 lbs lens (Zeiss 16mm 2,1-cooke 18mm 2,1) is the limit when a 1000 feet magazine is installed. PV or PL mount are available. For 16mm format our blimps can accept the Aaton A minima or the Ikonoskop A-Cam . On the INDOOR VERSION only the Viper FilmStream Camera with a max lens weight 3 lbs ( such as Zeiss Distagon T 5mm) can be installed. The Blimp pilot controls the airship from a portable radio unit, the camera operator from a different console moves the the remote head that allows the camera to pan independently from the blimp an the tilt axis (180 degrees) allows the camera operator from a different control to frame. roll axis is available on request. A pan stabilizer is installed on the head, compensating any rotation of the blimp, your production operator can use one of our console to frame the camera. The blimp can be switched in flight between two pilots.
